totti gets a pedicure

cutting totti’s claws cut was always a struggle. but i realized that if you instead trim them with a nail file it’s actually enjoyable for him. the pictures below are of dad filing them today.

tack for bilderna mamma! :D

popaganda

yesterday i decided to stop with my self-pitying and went to the music festival called “popaganda”. several swedish indie band played but also an amazing brazilian act.

band 1: joel alme
this was my least favorite. fantastic band but the singer somehow wasn’t in sync with the rest of the band. plus, it really bugs me when swedish band sings in english with a strong swedish accent.

band 2: ceasars
these guys are pretty good, but one of the band members really irritates me and i have a hard time liking the band because of him. he starts the concert with saying that he’s happy to be back in stockhom because rest of sweden sucks. luckily, he gets no response from the audience as most people probably aren’t even from stockholm.

band 3: the radio dept.
lovely melodies in true joy division spirit. this was a new discovery for me and need to go out and buy their album!

band 4: laakso
i had never even heard of this band but they had some really dedicated fans in the audience who could sing along to every single song. i think this was actually to most exciting thing to watch. but they were good. i will have to look into their music a bit as well.

band 5: bonde de role
i had no idea what to expect when a large brazilian guy walks out on the stage and stands in front of a mixer. not many people had gathered in front of the stage so i was pretty close to the front. then the rest of the band come in… i had no intentions of being in the mosh pit but once the concert started there was no way out. i cannot possibly explain the music but the youtube clip below is from the concert. dirty and trashy but OH SO GOOD! you couldn’t possibly stand still!

band 6: familjen
techno pop made by two brothers from skåne (my home “state”). again, not music i’m used to but i loved it. i guess the best thing about these festivals is that it can open your eyes to new music (the fact that these bands are super popular in sweden is of course all news to me!).

band 7: bob hund
the main act and reason for most people to pay 280 SEK to come. a nineties band who have come together once again to make beautiful pop tunes. personally i was too tired and couldn’t really enjoy the show but i bet the other 8000 people who were there had a wonderful time!

all in all, a good day which opened me up to several new artists and music styles. the fact that being alone at a music festival made me feel like the loneliest person in sweden is an entirely different story.

these boys are shreducated

i brought my lunch to oneoff yesterday to hang out with the boys. nico and martin were both wearing the “shreducated” tee so i had to snap a picture of them. cute, huh?

happiness

in times like these it’s nice to remember true happiness… pictures from when i picked up totti 8 weeks old.

suburbia here i come

alright, after things got even worse today and the grief had given me 1000 new grey hairs, my situation was solved thanks to johanna’s excellent eavesdropping skills. she overheard a guy on the subway talking on his cell about an apartment he wanted to rent out urgently and she bravely approached him. rent is cheap, flat is pretty big, totti is welcome, communications between city and place are easy and fast and most importantly, i can move in straight away. so time to sign contract tomorrow for 6 months and get the keys. i had no intentions of moving this far away but it’s a good solution for now. i simply can’t take anymore of this stress. and my commute will still be shorter (in time) than the one i had in innsbruck.

it wasn’t a mistake to move here, i know that. but it’s just so damn hard to think about all the things i had to give up. amazing friends, great apartment, fun job, awesome coworkers. to be honest, i do have great friends, coworkers and job here as well. i just miss everyone in innsbruck so much it makes day to day life here a bit unbearable at times.

but as you all tell me, things will get better.

time to start looking for an apartment… again

not in a good mood. things are not happening as planned and the people you’d like to count on aren’t there. i never ever want to be in the position where i have to count on other people. i’m sick of getting myself into a mess. was this whole stockholm move just a big effing mistake?

when everything seems too good to be true it probably is

world, i get it! stop teaching me the same lesson over and over again.

you complete me

is it weird to feel incomplete when away from a dog? probably. i’m sure my colleague johanna would say so. i asked her today if she had a babybjörn (those things to carry a baby on your stomach) i could borrow. she said ‘yeees… whyyy…?’ in a hesitant manner. i told her about my idea how to transport totti to his daycare on my bike. she shook her head in disbelief.

burton branching out?

yeah it’s true, the winter sport business has declined slightly the last few years, but i doubt burton snowboards are behind these egg timers i found at designtorget in stockholm. the font is very similar though… ;)

totti!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

how could this happen???
