another day in our lives
stockholm is a wonderful city. it really is. but right now the city is just covered in clouds and people with frowns. it’s the gray season and everyone here just waits for it to be over. if i had some vacation days left, this would be the time to use them. but luckily, christmas is just 6 weeks away. but until then…?
the absolut icebar in stockholm re-opened its doors with the new theme and ice and this was celebrated with a little event pulled together by the one and only astrid. the new theme was inspired by a factory and you could find things like a monitoring screen, hard hats, absolut bottles and glasses on a conveyor belt and a big red button which clearly stated “don’t push” (but i did!).
i managed to snap some pictures before my camera broke. yes, my canon is very unhappy at the moment. hopefully it can be fixed easily!
we spent less than 24hrs on the island but still worth the trip. and linus had to work of course. first in the kitchen as my personal chef and then pulling up the boat together with his dad. neighbor Anders helped as well.
it’s so wonderful to be out there regardless of the weather conditions. it’s a perfect place to relax, eat and drink good and just be. i’m hoping to take a trip back soon. thanksgiving maybe?
Starbucks öppnar på Arlanda
Den amerikanska kafékedjan Starbucks har Sverigepremiär i början på nästa år.
Det är restaurangföretaget SSP som öppnar Sveriges första Starbucks på Arlanda.
– Det är ju modern till alla kaffekedjor och den svenska kaffemarknaden är intressant för Starbucks, säger SSP Sveriges vd Lars Edengréen till E24.
SPP har franchiseavtal med Starbucks i flera europeiska länder, främst i anslutning till flygplatser och järnvägsstationer.
– Arlanda är ju en av Sveriges mest trafikintensiva platser, så många får chansen att pröva, säger Lars Edengréen som menar att det återstår att se om det blir fler caféer än det första.
– Personligen tror jag inte att Starbucks nöjer sig med ett, säger han.

what a weekend! sunny weather, great company and tons of food (and beer, wine and snaps!). i was pretty beat last night but well worth it. thanks to all and of course especially to Linus and his parents who let us use their place.

i was actually off all thursday from work and spent the day on ålön together with linus and astrid. joel (astrid’s boyfriend) joined us wednesday night for dinner but had to head back to the city for a conference. regardless, we all had a wonderful time and i wish we could have spent the whole weekend there to enjoy the last few days of summer.
next time i go there i expect the leaves to be falling but i can imagine it will be just as amazing.
it has been a great weekend with some sun and long walks. saturday djurgården and rosendal and sunday söder and årstaviken.

this week will be fantastic because linus has just arrived to stockholm! we haven’t seen each other in almost 4 weeks and last time we just saw each other for a few hours so i’m SO happy to get to spend 5 days with him now! ♥
or the headline could have been “home sweet home”. travel is tons of fun and especially when you get to see your friends but let me tell you – it’s nice to be home. i love love love my life in stockholm.
i have this amazing little dog who is everything to me. i never want to be apart from him for more than one week again!
i love my job and i’m planning on holding on to it as hard as i can.
i got my own little tiny apartment which is great just because of the fact that it’s MINE! and coming fall i will start with the kitchen renovation and making it even better.
i have an amazing boyfriend who although he’s most of the time in oslo (like right now) still is just a phone call and short flight away. and have i mentioned he’s really hot?
and of course my fantastic friend astrid who’s always there for me and all the others who makes my life here in stockholm so great!
i do have tons of pictures from my last days in seattle and port angeles and i have to get to that… just not right now. once i’ve slept it off i will tell you all about it and about all the people who makes seattle so amazing.
wednesday evening to friday evening i started my mini vacation on ålön together with linus and family. totti made a new friend in 7-year-old leo and the two were inseparable the whole time. things like that makes me happy.
