Lots of Disney to look forward to…

we got to spend almost an entire day yesterday in a movie theater and let me tell you: i loved it! we started after lunch and got to get a sneak peak at some of the great movies which are coming up in both 3D and 2D. the 3D movies which i look forward to the most are “alice in wonderland” with johnny depp and the 3rd and final part of “toy story”. from the 2D lineup “prince of persia” with jake gyllenhaal is standing out the most.

after the run-through we were so lucky to be one of the first audiences in the world to watch the nearly finished disney movie, “princess and the frog”. this is disney going back to its roots with handdrawn animation and musical influences. it will for sure blow you away!

like this wasn’t enough… but couple hours later we were invited to a pre-screening of “up” (yes, we in scandinavia are very late with releasing this movie) in 3D. pete doctor, the maker of the movie, was there to present it and tell us a bit about the movie and this was of course an amazing treat for everyone. it’s so wonderful what the pixar team has created and “up” is a movie i wish everyone would take the time to see. both kids and adults but mainly adults i would say.

what a great day! but since i was gone from work yesterday i had about twice as much to do today. and tomorrow will be a busy day (nephew noah’s birthday, linus arriving, meeting the parents etc) so i’m planning on taking it super easy tonight. and who says i don’t have a life? :P

Disney acquires Marvel Entertainment

Huge news! Mickey, Tinker and the others will get new family members such as Wolverine and Spiderman. Being a huge Marvel fan I couldn’t be more excited! For more info, read here.

totally normal for a 32-year-old

this is my work station:

bolt and rhino, can you think of better characters to work with?

what you don’t see in the picture is mickey to the left and pooh to the right plus the poster of jonas brothers…

it’s a love story

to my co-workers frustration i won’t stop singing this song. what can i say, i love our disney stars and spring is in the air! :D

celebrating

after the verdict against pirate bay yesterday, head of disney scandinavia invited the entire office for champagne to celebrate. it’s exciting to see what this will really mean to our business. for once i feel i’m in the right place at the right time! :)

hannah montana – the movie

i have forgotten to tell you about our screening of hannah montana – the movie last week. although i’m not really the target audience for the movie, i have to say i LOVED it. it was so sweet and i really like the music (i have the soundtrack as well…) miley cyrus is a bit of an idol to me although she’s exactly half my age! :D
i hope to take my cousins’ cousins (yeah i know that was a bit complicated) once it’s out in the theater.

good news at disney

while other movie giants are downsizing, disney is growing stronger and has just finalized a deal with dreamworks and spielberg to distribute about 6 of their live-action movies per year.

through financial crises around the world, disney will remain strong and continues to produce outstanding entertainment for everyone. being a disney employee, i couldn’t be happier!

check out some stories on the web here and here.

and don’t forget to go and see bolt!

the opposite of crap day

today was a really fun and exciting day! i love the big scandi conferences we have twice a year at disney. my presentation worked just fine, and i think everybody liked to see some new faces up there (johanna and i did the presentation together).

after the presentation i had arranged for a dog trainer who specializes on movies, commercials etc to come and talk about how she works. she had 2 dogs with her, a jack russel who had been in a commercial for a painkiller and this amazing labrador who could do tricks that i barely could do. and she just gave all the commands in a very low and calm voice. truly amazing! he had also been in a commercial for ramlosa (mineral water).

then of course totti was on the stage and she showed how you teach a dog how to work with a clicker. it was so cool to see how fast he responded. i really should get myself one of those. and best of all, she wants to recruit totti to her agency so maybe he can get some work! i mean, about time for him to get a job huh? maybe i’ll try to get some professional head-shots of him this weekend. hopefully totti won’t become a diva now when he’s signing a modeling contract! ;)

once we were done with the presentations and had had dinner, we went and saw a private screening of the coming disney movie bedtime stories starring adam sandler. it hasn’t gotten very good reviews in the us, but i loved it and if you like sandler you will as well. it was just a fun, easy and feelgood kinda movie.

now i’m ready to hit the bed. another long day of movie presentations tomorrow. man i love disney! :D
