monday evening at obaren with astrid, linus and his friend tobbe. some beer and good time with friends makes this time of the year a bit more bearable.
can i please get a time-out?
Published November 11, 2009 ME , båstad , stockholm , totti Leave a Commentstockholm is a wonderful city. it really is. but right now the city is just covered in clouds and people with frowns. it’s the gray season and everyone here just waits for it to be over. if i had some vacation days left, this would be the time to use them. but luckily, christmas is just 6 weeks away. but until then…?
broken camera, problems with deliveries, ruined countertop and more. i’m just so sick of it all.
atleast you know now why it’s so quiet here.
ps: but totti is doing great! 
it was julie’s birthday the other day (which i remembered a day too late – typical me) and made me think of her wedding and all the pictures i haven’t gone through. it’s just like me to avoid it all together when there’s SO many pictures to go through. here’s one of my favorites though. she’s just so beautiful, excited and happy in the picture.
* kitchen is nearly finished, just missing a stove and some other details.
* canon camera is still broken. and canon & the place where the camera was bought keeps putting the responsibility on each other. fun.
* linus is still sunbathing on gran canaria while i’m whiter than the vampires from true blood.
* totti’s eye is much better and he’s back to his whiny self (you’d think that he’s be whining when sick, but he’s the opposite. guess he needs his energy to whine. bugger.
* grey’s anatomy keeps surprising. in a good way that is.
that’s all until i have a camera again…
the absolut icebar in stockholm re-opened its doors with the new theme and ice and this was celebrated with a little event pulled together by the one and only astrid. the new theme was inspired by a factory and you could find things like a monitoring screen, hard hats, absolut bottles and glasses on a conveyor belt and a big red button which clearly stated “don’t push” (but i did!).
i managed to snap some pictures before my camera broke. yes, my canon is very unhappy at the moment. hopefully it can be fixed easily!
sunday: slowly but surely things are coming together… the delivery with fridge and stuff decided not to show and linus and i had to drive to elgiganten in barkaby to talk to them and they could confirm something went wrong… so much for telling everyone that elgiganten is the best place to shop… they did however give me a refund on the delivery charge so i’m not too angry about it.
doesn’t the floor look just amazing? love it. the “white” is not as “yellow” in real life – just the pictures. as you can see though there are some open slots for stove and fridge.
now it’s time to head home to my little sick puppy and continue cleaning. there is dust EVERYWHERE in the apartment. for you who have renovated before knows what i mean. enjoy your evening wherever you are! (mom is still in china and linus has now arrived to gran canaria. me jealous? noooo….)
he starts of the walk happy and excited to “read” the messages left by the other city dogs on curbs and poles and leaves new messages for them to “read”. but after a while his becoming hesitant, realizing something isn’t right. one block away from the veterinarian he turns on the breaks and i have to carry him the rest of the way.
the first vet fears the worst. she doesn’t see a cut in the eye and thinks this is some sort of eye disease. totti is shaking like a leaf and squeezing his eye shut as hard as he cans during the examination. he’s obviously not feeling well and the nice vet decides to call in the specialist.
totti and i sit down in another room and waits for this expert to show up and an hour later she’s ready for him. totti has now gotten used to the hospital and is not as hesitant to show the new vet his now blue blurry eye. they all praise him for being such a nice and handsome miniature bull terrier.
and then the new vet sees it. there is a small speck of sand corn which has penetrated the lens. according to the vet is this the most painful injury to the eye. BUT it’s treatable!
so after a trip to the pharmacy to pick up eye drops and creams plus painkillers, totti is now home and guessing sleeping. because of his condition he’s getting special treatment today and gets to sleep on the bed. my little cosy totts. at least he should be better soon!
friday and things are shaping up. wall is almost finished and the kitchen is starting to come together as well.
soon the fridge/freezer and fan will be delivered to the apartment. i can’t wait for it all to be finished so i can move back in.
